Art Basel Miami Beach,December 1-3, 20122
This year marks the 20th anniversary of Art Basel Miami Beach, the centerpiece of the city’s widely acclaimed Art Week Miami Beach, which brings together thousands of collectors, galleries and artists from across the globe.
Art Basel Miami Beach is the most important art show in the United States for contemporary art. The show attracts approximately 70,000 visitors each year, including collectors, artists, curators, critics, and art dealers.
Art Basel Miami Beach is held at the Miami Beach Convention Center, which is located in the heart of South Beach. The convention center is within walking distance of many hotels, restaurants, and nightclubs.
The show features over 200 galleries from around the world, representing the work of over 4,000 artists. The galleries are divided into four sections: Galleries, Nova, Positions, and Edition.
The Galleries section is the largest and most prestigious section of the show. It features galleries that primarily deal in contemporary art.
The Nova section is devoted to new work by emerging artists. The work in this section is often experimental and may be less accessible to the general public.
The Positions section is devoted to a single artist or a small group of artists. The work in this section is often more conceptual and experimental than the work in the other sections.
The Edition section is devoted to prints, multiples, and editioned works.
SCOPE Miami Beach 2018 will open with the Platinum First View on Tuesday, December 4, 12pm-4pm; followed by with its VIP and Press Preview on Tuesday, December 4, 4pm-8pm. The fair will run through December 9th; 11am-8pm Wednesday-Sunday.
