Art Basel, born in 1970 through the vision of Basel gallerists, has evolved into the world's premier platform for Modern and contemporary art. With editions in Basel, Miami Beach, Hong Kong, and Paris, each show is a reflection of its host city and region. What makes Art Basel truly exceptional is its ability to adapt and embrace the unique character of each location, showcasing diverse galleries, artworks, and captivating parallel programming.

For the 2023 edition of its Americas fair in Miami Beach, Art Basel is set to deliver an awe-inspiring experience. This year, 277 premier international galleries will grace the event, with 25 exciting newcomers joining a lineup of esteemed exhibitors. Notably, two-thirds of these galleries hail from the vibrant artistic landscapes of North and Latin America.

One of the most anticipated features of Art Basel Miami 2023 is the Meridians sector, dedicated to monumental artworks. Here, 19 thought-provoking projects, including new and site-specific works, will take center stage. The focus? To provide fresh perspectives on how we collectively inhabit our planet, inviting viewers to contemplate the world from a new vantage point.

In the Kabinett sector, 30 galleries will showcase 28 meticulously curated installations within their main booths. These immersive installations promise to captivate the senses and push the boundaries of artistic expression.

Art Basel's commitment to accessibility continues with the return of the Conversations program, open to the public. Attendees can engage in live debates among thought leaders, delving into key topics that shape the world of art and culture. This year, the spotlight shines on celebrating Latin America's rich artistic heritage.

Beyond the fair halls, Art Basel will embark on a remarkable collaboration with world-class institutions, private collections, and cultural partners. This expanded program of exhibitions and events across Miami Beach promises to enrich the cultural tapestry of the city throughout the fair week.

The Miami Beach Convention Center (MBCC) will be the epicenter of this creative whirlwind, hosting Art Basel from December 8th to 10th, 2023, with Preview Days on December 6th and 7th. Art Basel Miami Beach is proudly presented with the support of its Global Lead Partner, UBS.

Vincenzo de Bellis, Director of Fairs and Exhibition Platforms at Art Basel, shared his excitement: "We welcome the art world back to Art Basel Miami Beach this year with curated sectors and programming as inspired and ambitious as ever." He highlighted the Meridians sector's exploration of our ever-shifting natural and cultural environments, the Kabinett sector's innovative exhibitors, and the Conversations program's focus on celebrating Miami Beach's unique position as a creative nexus.

The cultural extravaganza extends far beyond the convention center. From The Bass to ICA Miami, from the works of Hernan Bas and Anne Duk Hee Jordan to those of Charles Gaines and Tau Lewis, Miami Beach's institutions and private collections will come alive with exceptional exhibitions, offering a comprehensive and unforgettable artistic journey.

Art Basel Miami 2023 is not merely an event; it is a celebration of human creativity, a testament to the power of art, and an invitation to explore the boundless realms of imagination. Save the dates, and prepare to be swept away by the artistic marvels that await in the heart of Miami Beach.
